From Conversation to Automation: How We Built a Workflow with VectorShift in a Day

Image
In today’s fast-paced market, automation is more than just a buzzword—it’s a business imperative. At Alza LLC, we’re always exploring tools that help us deliver smarter, faster solutions for our clients. One standout? VectorShift—a powerful platform that lets teams rapidly build AI-driven workflows without heavy engineering overhead. Recently, we set out to test how quickly we could go from a simple idea to a functioning automation pipeline using VectorShift. The result? A working demo—launched in less than a day. The Spark: Start with a Simple Conversation We began with a basic need: “Can we automate a routine customer query and surface a next-best action?” Instead of diving into weeks of custom dev work, we launched a Conversation Node in VectorShift. This node allowed us to simulate a chat-like interaction where the user explains their need—essentially, capturing intent in natural language. From Intent to Action: Building the Pipeline From there, we mapped the conversation out...

Automation Leadership in the Age of AI: What Tech Leaders Must Embrace Now

Image
Artificial intelligence is no longer a distant concept—it's reshaping business models, decision-making processes, and how teams operate. In his Axios piece  “Wake-up call: Leadership in the AI age,”  Jim VandeHei issues a clarion call to executives: adapt leadership mindsets or risk falling behind. At the heart of this shift lies automation. As AI-driven automation expands across industries, tech leaders must steer their organizations with clarity, courage, and foresight. Here are the key takeaways for those leading automation initiatives: 1.  Face the Disruption Head-On AI isn’t just another tool—it’s a force multiplier that can rewire workflows and redefine value creation. VandeHei emphasizes that many leaders are underprepared for the speed and scope of this transformation. Tech leaders must break through denial and engage directly with the strategic implications of automation. 2.  Lead with Experimentation Innovation demands experimentation. In the context of aut...

We’re Building the Future of Real Estate Deal Flow—And It Starts with Automation

We’re Building a Smarter Way to Screen Real Estate Deals—Here’s How It’ll Save You 30% Time If you’re a real estate investor, you already know the grind: deals hitting your inbox all day, folders full of attachments, and hours spent analyzing each property just to find the handful worth pursuing. Now imagine if your deal pipeline sorted itself—flagging top opportunities, scoring them against your exact criteria, and saving you at least 30% of your review time. That’s the system we’re building right now. 🔧 Why We’re Automating Real Estate Deal Scoring Our team has been working hands-on with investor deal submissions—reviewing email inputs, organizing attachments into shared drives, and analyzing how investors think when scoring a property. This effort inspired us to build a smarter workflow: one where automation + AI handle the initial analysis, leaving you more time to negotiate and close. We’re currently deploying a system that: Captures deal details from investor emails ...

I Let an Autonomous AI Book My Hair Appointment — Here’s What Happened

Image
When you think of AI, your mind probably jumps to things like coding, data analysis, or maybe even writing essays. But what about booking a haircut? That’s exactly what I set out to test with Manus, a new autonomous AI agent. Unlike typical chatbots or assistants, Manus doesn’t just respond to prompts – it takes initiative, works in the cloud, and can operate independently while you're offline. A Quick Intro to Manus Manus stands apart from AI models like ChatGPT or Claude because it acts more like a digital project manager than a conversational assistant. You give it a task, and it handles the entire process, from planning to execution, asynchronously. Intrigued by its promise, I wanted to see how well it could handle a simple but specific job: scheduling my next hair appointment. The Task: Book Me a Haircut Here’s what I asked Manus to do: Find a reputable salon in my area Check availability for a cut and style on a specific day Book the appointment I gave it a b...

Too Busy to Post? How Automated Real Estate Marketing Can Save You Time and Grow Your Business

Image
Running a small business is a juggling act. Between closing deals, managing clients, and putting out daily fires, it’s no wonder many entrepreneurs struggle to keep up with marketing. If you’re in real estate and find yourself too busy to post consistently, you’re not alone—and you’re not out of options. The Cost of Inconsistency An inconsistent online presence doesn’t just mean missed likes or shares—it can mean missed leads, lower credibility, and decreased visibility in search engines. In today’s fast-moving digital landscape, potential clients expect real-time insights and regular engagement. If you're not showing up, someone else is. Why Manual Marketing Doesn’t Scale Manually managing your marketing—writing posts, scheduling content, analyzing performance—eats into valuable time that could be spent closing deals or networking. That’s where automation comes in. Enter: Real Estate Marketing, Automated By automating key parts of your marketing, you create a system that works eve...

Automating the First Look: Using AI to Prioritize Real Estate Deals for Investors

Image
Today, I focused on solving a problem nearly every real estate investor faces: deal overload. Every week, dozens of opportunities hit an investor’s inbox. Some are gems, most are noise. The challenge isn’t just sorting through them—it’s knowing which ones are actually worth spending time on. That’s where automation comes in. I began building an AI-driven workflow that takes incoming deal information sent via email and funnels it directly into an analysis framework. From there, the system performs a preliminary underwriting check using criteria like projected cash flow, cap rate, build year, unit count, and location data. But the real innovation is in the summary layer. Instead of drowning in offering memorandums and spreadsheets, the investor receives a quick, plain-English summary. Even better—it includes a rating or recommendation: Worth a deeper look, Hold off, or Skip. This doesn’t replace due diligence, of course. It just gets you to “no” faster—or, better yet, helps you s...

Revolutionizing Real Estate Deal Analysis with Automation

Image
Today I completed an exciting project for a real estate investor client who was struggling with the time-consuming process of analyzing potential investment properties. By leveraging cutting-edge automation tools, I transformed their workflow and dramatically improved their decision-making capabilities.  The Challenge  Real estate investors face a common challenge: analyzing dozens of potential properties quickly enough to identify the best opportunities before competitors. My client was spending hours manually inputting data into spreadsheets, running calculations, and trying to determine which properties met their investment criteria. This manual process was not only tedious but also prone to errors and missed opportunities.  The Solution: Integration of make.com and OpenAI  I designed a comprehensive automation solution that combines the power of make.com's workflow automation with OpenAI's intelligent analysis capabilities:  Streamlined Data Collection : Usi...
